- They just feel the need to monitor everything.

- On most websites, they have "terms and conditions" or something similar and in that writing it'll say if they're going to read your things without permission. However, most people push "accept" without reading them. So technically, you're giving said website permission to collect your personal data.
- Probably because they want to protect their company, I don't know.

Debate 11/22
- Although I agree with what Sierra is saying about how praying should be private, I believe that if someone wants to pray before a public meeting or something like that, then they should be able to.
- Other people who don't want to pray or who don't believe in it, don't really have to participate.
- I personally do think that praying should be allowed to be done. You can't tell someone that they're not allowed to pray.
Wednesday, November 20, 2013
BR- 11/18/13
- I agree, because the non-religious people could just leave whilst the others pray before the meeting.

- If I were the hunter I would have probably chose the same decision that he did. Mainly because I wouldn't want to live my life possibly in a hospital getting better, and I'd be devastated if I couldn't experience things with my kid on the way, and just experience things in life in general after that.

Debate questions: Mandatory Organ Donations
For; How many people die each year by not having the correct organ that they need?
Against; Do you think making kids, around 5 and under, donating might not be a good idea?

BR-11/6/13
1. I believe that it's fine that K-mart is doing that. I understand why people are upset because they want to spend their Thanksgiving with their families. But they could just arrange their dinners for that day at an according time to which they'd be off. I mean, it's not like they'd work nonstop those 41 hours. Their families and them could just make dinner plans around their shift. It could work out finely, people are just over reacting. Also, they're volunteering which means, they probably don't want to be around their families for the holiday anyways.
2. The Russian law is just way more extreme, the United States law is way more tolerate when it comes to gays and laws including gay rights. It all comes down to the committee not wanting you to promote/support gay rights. If you do they will take action against anybody who would wear rainbow colors. At least in the United States, they're trying to legalize it.

Debate 11/1
Questions for;
Questions against;
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes;
- Why do believe that lowering the age limit for alcohol would be beneficial?
- Would lowering the age limit help teenagers be more responsible when drinking?
Questions against;
- By keeping the 21+ age limit on alcohol, do you believe it'll be better off?
- By keeping the drinking age, won't it just make more teens get into trouble?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes;
- Dylan makes a good point about the whole lowering it because if you are old enough to fight for our country, make the most important decisions of your life, why shouldn't you be able to drink?
- Hunter's point about kidney failure with the lower age limit is probably pretty accurate.
- Not being able to legally drink makes teens under 21 want to drink more when they have the opportunity.
- Both teams put up a pretty good argument.
- Dakota and Dylan's argument was just over all better and better planned.
- Although Hunter and Greg made some pretty good points.
- "You're not being rebellious, you're being ignorant." - best thing said.
- The whole school and alcohol point makes a lot of sense, actually.

- It is harsh because just because a kid is bigger than other kids doesn't mean that they shouldn't enjoy the fun of trick or treating. If you're that worried about the fact that a kid is obese and shouldn't have candy, hand out something more healthy.
- It is, because it's freedom of speech and everything but it's still wrong to do so.

- Yes, because they helped pushed the girl to her limit. They contributed to her death in a way.
- Misdemeanors are punishable by more substantial fines and sometimes less than a year of jail time. Felonies are the more serious type of crimes and are normally classified with degrees.
- If someone gets caught bullying someone I believe that they should get a misdemeanor and spend a night in jail, nothing to serious. Just something that'll scare them enough to never do it again.

BR- 10/8/13
- I disagree. I don't believe that they should change the name because I think the name is perfectly fine how it is. It represents them well and changing it to "Washington Americans" would make it just worse. If they do change it maybe they should change it to something more appropriate and suiting for them.

- They need to get it all sorted out, it's ridiculous.

BR- 9/17/13
- It pretty much says that we Americans are horrible people and jump to conclusions way to easily. We judge people on their appearance and skin color and then treat them differently. The melting pot definitely isn't what it seems to be.
- No it hasn't.

Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, and Denise McNair were all young girls who got killed because of a bomb. - He had worked for a large company and was in a meeting. The meeting ended because an executive ran in and said that there was a terrible plane crash in the World Trade Center. While one of his colleagues and him were watching the live footage on television, they saw the second plane hit and her colleagues broke out in tears because his brother worked in the second tower, on one of the higher floors.

- Frank Razzano was one of the few people who survived 9/11. He was staying in the Marriott World Trade Center, which is a hotel, but was one of the buildings destroyed. He was on the 19th floor of the hotel sleeping, but had woken up due to the sound of the first plane hitting. He looked outside to just see dust and papers everywhere. Seconds later he saw the second plane hit.
BR- 9/12/13
- People that don't have jobs are trying to get benefits for it, pretty much. The layoff rate has declined, which is great for the people with jobs, but there's no new job opening up for the millions of Americans that are unemployed.
- I think that is does mean that the economy is improving, maybe not drastically but somewhat.
BR- 9/11/13
- I think that we are entitled to our privacy, no matter what.
- Security may be important, but I personally think they should have to suspect us of something before the read into our private online lives.
- I think that the government should be allowed to have some kind of program to search for certain keywords, but that's it.
- If you reach a certain number of those keywords, maybe they could send you something to tell you that they're watching you.
- In general, if they want to monitor what you're doing online, you should be notified somehow beforehand.

- Other people probably will follow this trend because it'll make them more money as well.

"We will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream."
He meant that him nor his followers will be happy and content until everyone is equal and there is peace over all of America. He doesn't believe that it's right that blacks get treated poorly, when whites get to do whatever they want. He just wants them to all get along with one another and have peace.

- No, I don't think that McDonalds should raise their prices on the dollar menu. It's called "the dollar menu" for a reason. If they do end up raising the prices of the menu, they should really consider changing the name of the menu as well.

BR- 8/30/13
- The person who said that they felt threatened by the big group of African Americans, is obviously just racist and I don't believe that they should have had to leave. The group wasn't being a threat at all, they were keeping to themselves and everything. I think that if the customer that complained actually felt threatened then they would have left, instead of staying.
